Board-certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics, Dr. Santos combines the personal attention of the traditional small-town doctor with an evidence-based approach to modern medicine. He focuses on preventing illness and maintaining your good health.

Dr. Santos received an undergraduate degree, with honors, from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. He went on to study medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical school in Newark, where he received the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism Award and the Dean Brown Award for significant student contributions to the school. He continued on at Rutgers for his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics and was further honored to receive the Golden Apple Award for excellence in teaching.

Dr. Santos is affiliated with the Chilton Medical Center, located in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, part of the Atlantic Health System. He also has an academic appointment as clinical preceptor at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York.

His calming demeanor, even in an emergency, puts patients’ minds at ease and is why he received both the “Physician We Admire Award” and the “New Jersey’s Favorite Kids’ Doc” distinction. Dr. Santos is responsive to your questions and takes the time to explain what’s happening during an appointment. He speaks Tagalog and Spanish.

Dr. Ritu Sharma’s extensive medical training enables her to provide quality, compassionate medical care for your entire family. Dr. Sharma enjoys educating her patients, as well as sharing tips on how to prevent common illnesses. Her current patients call her “kind,” “considerate,” and “a great example of what a doctor stands for.”

Double board-certified in internal medicine and pediatrics, Dr. Sharma believes that listening to patients and performing a thorough exam prepares her to provide the best care possible.

A graduate of The College of New Jersey in Ewing, New Jersey, Dr. Sharma went on to medical school at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark. She served her residency at the University Hospital, also in Newark, and later served as the Chairperson for the Department of Pediatrics at Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains, New Jersey.

Dr. Sharma has received numerous accolades, including the Golden Apple Award from the Class of 2009 New Jersey Medical School, the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2009, and the Physicians We Admire Award from the nursing staff at Chilton Medical Center in 2012. She speaks Hindi and Spanish. Dr. Sharma welcomes residents living in and around Jersey City, New Jersey, to DRS Medical Associates.
